A look at what's involved in creating a website — to serve as a platform for you as an author and your books. (In which I say the word “increasingly” far too often — sorry!)
At the time I published this, I was using a Mac application called RapidWeaver for developing my website. I’ve bounced back and forth between platforms since then, and when I was on Windows I used a program called Xara Designer Pro X (they keep adding bits onto the name). It’s powerful, but pricey, and has an annoying subscription service attached to some of its features.
Now I’m back to a Mac and am using Sparkle to manage my website, which is quite reasonably priced, simple, and does everything I need out of the box without paid add-ons/
